We were with Professor Vincent Casoli, plastic and aesthetic surgeon at the University Hospital of Bordeaux, France. The professor is also responsible for the Transgender Unit<\/a> within the hospital.<\/p>\n

We arrived early in the morning. Dr Christophe Llorens was also present to assist the Professor in the implantation of two ZSI 475 FTM hydraulic prostheses.<\/p>\n

Each surgery lasted approximately 1.30 to 2 hours. The Professor used a technique to fix the implant which is specific to the Bordeaux Hospital, with Mitek anchors.<\/p>\n

\"We are going to use these anchors to fix them on the pubis and which allow us to have a very satisfactory bone anchorage. This allows us to properly implant the base of the penile prosthesis on the pubis\", explained Professor Casoli.<\/p>\n

Both implantations were successful, and we had the opportunity to ask Professor Casoli a few questions about his techniques, his experience with ZSI prostheses and about an update regarding surgeries during COVID.
