On September 22, 2016, in the Montchoisi clinic in Lausanne, Switzerland, Dr. Paul-Jean Daverio placed the ZSI 475 FTM L180 (18cm) implant in a patient who already had a phalloplasty.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

A series of subcutaneous injections had deformed the phalloplasty. The injections were intended to give the phalloplasty more volume, but the results were beyond disappointing. The patient ended up with several unsightly nodules with fribrosis at the tip of the phalloplasty. Due to these injections, the previously placed implant, the ZSI 475 L150, could not be situated correctly, and the glans had a \u201climp\u201d aspect.<\/p>\n

Dr. Daverio began by removing the 15cm prosthesis, which was well-attached to the phalloplasty with its base affixed to the pubic bone via a thick fibrosis. Before placing the 18cm ZSI 475 L180 implant, Dr. Daverio expanded the interior portion of the phalloplasty in order to easily introduce the prosthesis and the glans. Once the prosthesis was placed in the phalloplasty, the surgeon eliminated the unsightly nodules to allow the 18cm prosthesis to be located properly.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

To transform the phalloplasty into a new penis, Dr. Daverio reshaped the tip of the phalloplasty. He improved the covering of the distal part of the prosthesis, rounded the head of the glans, and placed the crown of the new penis at the same point as the crown of the prosthesis. The prosthesis was kept inflated for several days to maintain its position in the new penis and to properly fill out the glans.<\/p>\n
